�The Wolf of Wall Street�: Aiming High in the Oscar Race 2014

The Wolf of Wall StreetThe Wolf of Wall Street�, the biopic movie directed by Martin Scorsese is all set to hit the screens on December 25th 2013, and this has marked the rise of another strong contender in many categories for the 86th Academy Awards. The movie was earlier speculated to be released on 2014, but this news of release in Christmas 2013 has set the whole Oscar predictors in dilemma as they got an unexpected competitor which is capable to create benign results in the red carpet.

�The Wolf of Wall Street� witnesses the fifth collaboration of Leonardo De Caprio and Martin Scorsese. In the movie, Leonardo portrays the real life character of a New York Stock Broker who refuses to cooperate in a fraudulent case in Wall Street. The movie is based on Jodan Belfoirt�s memoir, and the screenplay is written by Terence Winter. The costars of the movie include, Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey, Margot Robbie, Kyle Chandler etc.

As of now, no formal reviews of the movie are released, but the early reception seems to be highly positive. In the initial screening, critics praised the acting of Leonardo De Caprio and the direction of Scorsese. Now, let�s analyze the chances of �The Wolf of Wall Street� in the 86th Academy Awards.

As the movie gets released on Christmas, Leonardo De Caprio will be qualified to compete for the �Best Actor� award. He who have immortalized the New York based stock broker in the movie have huge expectations, even though he faces huge competition from Robert Redford ( All is Lost), Matthew McConaughy (Dallas Buyers Club), Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) and Tom Hanks (Captain Phillips). Leonardo has been nominated thrice for the Academy Awards in his career, but haven�t won yet.

In the Best Director category, Martin Scorsese faces huge threat from Alfonso Cuaran (Gravity) and Steve McQueen (12 Years a Slave). As per experts, Alfonso Cuaran has the highest chances to win this year�s Oscar for the Best Director. He took the viewers to an impeccable space journey in �The Gravity� and this may help him to bag the award. On the other hand, Martin Scorsese�s uncompromising and realistic film making also have some chances to win this year�s academy awards. The same is likely to happen in the case of �Best Feature� award.

Jonah Hill who portrayed the character of Donnie Azoff can be considered as the Black Horse in the Oscar race. As per reports, he is a strong contender to win the �Best supporting actor� award. His strong portrayal of Donnie in the movie is highly realistic in all aspects, and this time he may make it big in the red carpet.
